The WPBC ladies played their County Interclub Double Rink against East Preston. The weather started off dry and then the rain came. The Home team of Pat Edmonds, Ann Button, Carol Artley and June Lewis managed to play 17 ends and were winning 25 - 10. The Away team of Julie Woods, Sharon Pratt, Sue Gubbins and Marlene Hancock managed to play 14 ends and were winning 27 - 9 before the greens were closed by both greenkeepers. The East Preston Captain conceded the match so Pavilion won the match 52 - 19. They next play either Norfolk or Crablands on 30th June. .     The WPBC ladies played a friendly triples match against Arundel winning by 1 shot 59 to 58. Top rink was Jill Lay, Ann Button & Jean Garwood with a 29 to 10 win. Thanks to Carol for being Captain of the day.     On Sunday WPBC James Brennan travelled to Spartan to play in the County under 25’s singles against Spartan’s Jack Till. James won 21 to 16. James goes forward to the quarter finals to be played at home. .      On Tuesday Julie Woods and Jacky Pearson lost their match against a team from Crablands in the Unbadged Trixie Pairs competition 28 to 19. The WPBC ladies played a friendly triples match at Southwick winning on all 3 rinks - 61 to 30. Top rink was Wendy Rhodes, Ley Elliott and Sharon Pratt with a 26 to 10 win.    WPBC were knocked out of the National Double Rink 33 - 32 away at Norfolk Bowls Club on Saturday. The rink of Ray Leggett, John Winkley, Alan Vidler and Terry Honnor won 24 - 10 and going into the last end Pavilion were 2 shots ahead overall but the rink of James Brennan, Simon Davey, Graham Ives and Malcolm Hosking dropped a 3 to lose 23 - 8 and Pavilion lost overall by 1 shot     On Thursday Ray Leggett & Gavin Beven of WPBC won their County Pairs Match against a team from Chichester 23 to 9 On Friday Gareth Beven, Gavin, Beven, Ray Leggett & Terry Honnor lost their County Fours Match at Pulborough     WPBC men progressed to the 3rd Round of the National Top Club with a convincing 4 - 1 win over Tarring Priory on Sunday. John Westlake set the ball rolling with a 18 - 7 win over John Schools, Simon Davey won the singles 21 - 15 over Andy Clarke, Jeremy Simpson, Robin Forrester and Malcolm Hosking won 23 - 12 in the Triples and Bryan Bodicoat, John Winkley, Alan Vidler and Terry Honnor won 21 - 21 in the Fours after 21 ends an extra end had to played and WPBC scored another point final score WPBC 22 Tarring Priory 21. James Brennan and John Frew went down 18 – 23in the pairs. WPBC play Worthing in the next round     On Tuesday WPBC “B” team in the West Sussex Bowls League played at Storrington On a very slow green we took some time to adjust and as a result WPBC behind from early on. WPBC did however have one winning rink of Brian Bodicoat, Peter Woods, Gordon Kibbles and Chris Scott ( 18 - 12 ) and one drawing rink of A Page, Bernie Homer, Ken Chapman and Dave Thomas ( 20 - 20 ). The overall score was Storrington 101 WPBC-“B” 52 POINTS 7 - 3.

Worthing Pavilion Bowling Club welcomes new members so come and try bowls. We provide flat -green bowls both indoors and outdoors. If you have never bowled or want to develop your bowling skills further we have 4 level 1,7 level 2 and 2 level 3 Bowls England approved coaches to assist you. We have a well-stocked bar and very good catering & Bar facility  join us  and sample the friendly atmosphere in our comfortable club house situated in a pleasant oasis of green close to the town centre. Worthing Pavilion Bowling Club is open all year except for Christmas Holidays and New Year’s Day.
