WPBC’s Terry Honnor reached the National Finals with a nail biting 20 - 19 win in the Family Pairs on Saturday. Playing with his Son, Ian, the game finished tied after 21 ends but Terry and Ian edged the extra end to claim a place in the National Finals at Leamington Spa in August     WPBC progressed to the 4th Round of the National Top Club with a 3 - 2 win over Worthing on Tuesday. Simon Davey and John Westlake gave Pavilion a great start with wins in in the singles and 2 wood singles respectively and the rink of Colin Davey, John Winkley, Graham Ives and Alan Vidler secured a narrow win in the Fours to clinch the final point and send WPBC through. WPBC also have representation in the National Senior Pairs with Terry Honnor and Ray Leggett reaching the Area Semi Final with a 1 shot win over Chichester on Tuesday. In a new indoor National competition WPBC secured an 8 - 0 win over Preston, Brighton in the Fantastic 5's to send them top of their area. WPBCs other entry also top their area and both teams are therefore in pole position to progress to the knock out stages. In the County Pairs Championships, Ray Leggett and Gavin Beven were knocked out of the Pairs with a 16 - 21 loss to Steve Ireland from Peacehaven.     For the second week running WPBC are able to report another win for the WPBC B team. pre match rain slowed the Pulborough green even more than an otherwise traditionally slow green, and, although rain was threatened all afternoon WPBC still managed to overcome conditions and record a win. The result was ;- 78 - 67 to B team by three rinks to one. Top rink was Dave Thomas, 30- 15 with the other two being Chris Scott 18 - 11 and Ken Woodley 17 - 16. Points WPBC 8 Pulborough 2 WPBC are currently second in Division two with 58 points.      On Tuesday Julie Woods and Jacky Pearson lost their match against a team from Crablands in the Unbadged Trixie Pairs competition 28 to 19. The WPBC ladies played a friendly triples match at Southwick winning on all 3 rinks - 61 to 30. Top rink was Wendy Rhodes, Ley Elliott and Sharon Pratt with a 26 to 10 win.    WPBC were knocked out of the National Double Rink 33 - 32 away at Norfolk Bowls Club on Saturday. The rink of Ray Leggett, John Winkley, Alan Vidler and Terry Honnor won 24 - 10 and going into the last end Pavilion were 2 shots ahead overall but the rink of James Brennan, Simon Davey, Graham Ives and Malcolm Hosking dropped a 3 to lose 23 - 8 and Pavilion lost overall by 1 shot     On Thursday Ray Leggett & Gavin Beven of WPBC won their County Pairs Match against a team from Chichester 23 to 9 On Friday Gareth Beven, Gavin, Beven, Ray Leggett & Terry Honnor lost their County Fours Match at Pulborough     The WPBC ladies played a friendly match against Goring Manor and won 54 to 51. The winning rink was Doreen Merrett, Julie Woods and Jacky Pearson 28 to 10.     On Tuesday WPBC “B” team in the West Sussex Bowls League played at Storrington On a very slow green we took some time to adjust and as a result WPBC behind from early on. WPBC did however have one winning rink of Brian Bodicoat, Peter Woods, Gordon Kibbles and Chris Scott ( 18 - 12 ) and one drawing rink of A Page, Bernie Homer, Ken Chapman and Dave Thomas ( 20 - 20 ). The overall score was Storrington 101 WPBC-“B” 52 POINTS 7 - 3.

Worthing Pavilion Bowling Club welcomes new members so come and try bowls. We provide flat -green bowls both indoors and outdoors. If you have never bowled or want to develop your bowling skills further we have 4 level 1,7 level 2 and 2 level 3 Bowls England approved coaches to assist you. We welcome all: the young, the not so young. Come and see our facilities meet the friendly members and join the club. We have a well-stocked bar and very good catering & Bar facility  join us  and sample the friendly atmosphere in our comfortable club house situated in a pleasant oasis of green close to the town centre. Worthing Pavilion Bowling Club is open all year except for Christmas Holidays and New Year’s Day.
